How Much to Pay a Model/Talent? General Agencies participating in this program do not have set rates for hiring their models or talents. You are effectively posting a job advertisement on our network with a published compensation rate to attract interested models and talents to apply. The higher the compensation you offer, the more qualified people you will attract. Typical Compensation Range As a general guideline, we recommend offering $200~$600 a day to hire a model or talent as that amount will attract most people on our roster to apply. For work in national advertising, film, and radio where exclusive rights to the publication are required for a defined period of time, the offered rate should be significantly higher to match industry norms. Again, there is no hard and fast rules to compensation, only guidelines. Minimum Pay Guidelines We generally do not recommend offering less than $200 a day (or even half a day) as that will truly limit the number of models who would apply. The reason is that many models (or their parents if they are children) hold other jobs and hence generally require a few hundred dollars to entice them to take that particular day off work. In addition, many qualified models and talents may live more than a 2 hours drive from your event location and hence for it to be attractive for them to drive the distance, they need to be compensated for at least a full day event even if you only need them for half a day. Please also note that Ontario's minimum wage is $10.25/hr which works out to $12.81/hr factoring our agency's 20% commission cut. Can I Hire Models for Free? If you are holding an event or creating an advertisement to promote a charitable cause, it is possible to attract models to work for free. However, our agency will charge you $40 per model to cover our administrative cost for coordinating the model or talent. As the model or talent is not receiving any remuneration for this activity, it is common that you as the corporate sponsor would pay for their traveling and meal costs on site. It is also common that you would provide them with some kind of free gift, such as for example your company's product, for the event.
